This guide is for resetting a locked device and adding a device from IRIS Connect to the Headwind Mobile Device Management system (MDM)
Resetting a locked device
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold the volume up and the power button (and home button if there is one).
- Release the power button when the device vibrates (after about 3-5 seconds), but keep holding down volume and home button you will see the Android/manufacturer logo
- Keep holding until the Android system recovery menu displays (about 10 more seconds)
- Use the volume keys to scroll and highlight 'Wipe data/factory reset'
- Press power to select, the device will reset
You can now add the device to the MDM following the steps below:
Adding a device to the MDM

To enroll:
- Use a new Android 7.0+ device or reset a device to factory settings
- Tap 6 times anywhere on the first startup screen (sometimes you have to select the device language and then on the second screen you can then tap 6 times)
- Setup the Wi-Fi connection
- Scan the QR code
- Let the application be downloaded and installed by the managed provisioning tool
- Grant the permissions the application requests
