What is Screen Capture?
Screen capture allows you to record your entire screen or a specific window, your webcam, or both, with audio from your microphone and computer.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Under your You tab, click the new reflection + button. Then select Screen Capture.
Add details to your Reflection. Only the Reflection Title is required, all other fields are optional and can help you organize and search your reflections later.
Click Create to finalize.
After creation, a new blank Reflection preview will open. Under the 'Videos' tab, click Screen Capture.
First, choose what type of capturing you'd like to do:
Screen Capture: Only your screen
Video: Only your webcam
Video and Screen Capture: A dual, side by side video capturing both your screen and video simultaneously.
Screen Capture
To begin a screen capture, click the select screen button.
Your browser will ask for permission to access your microphone. Click Allow to enable audio recording.
Then, choose what part of your screen you'd like to share. Toggle between Chrome Tab, Window, or Entire Screen. Click the option to choose it.
Before confirming, toggle ON Share with system audio if you want to capture audio from your screen, such as the sound from a video playing on your computer.
Then click Share with Audio, or just Share if you've chosen not to toggle system audio.
If you're not sharing your web camera with this screen capture, skip to Final Steps below. Otherwise, continue to the next section to preview your video steps.
Video Capture
If you choose to record video, your browser will ask for permission to access your available cameras. Click Allow to enable video recording.
Under Camera, you can toggle between available cameras. You'll see a Preview of the camera's field of view.
Final Steps
Before finalizing, double check the rest of your information.
If you have an external microphone, you can choose this under Microphone.
You can also change your Recording quality from Low, Standard, and High. Keep in mind High recordings will take longer to upload.
Lastly, if you're looking to capture system audio in your recording, double check that box is checked.
Once you've looked over everything, you're ready to Start recording!
During Recording
While recording, you'll see a small preview of your screen capture. You'll also see Audio bars associated with your microphone and system audio (if you've chosen to toggle this on).
You can freely move between tabs and your screen capture will continue to record only the screen(s) you chose when setting up.
Uploading your Screen Capture
When finished, click the Stop recording button.
Your video will begin uploading automatically. Upload time may vary depending on the video’s length, resolution, and your internet speed.
You'll get this message when the file is done processing, however, the upload process is still active.
While processing, you'll see this message.
When it's fully uploaded, it will look like this, ready to review!
