The use of personal devices in the classroom is a policy decision to be made by your organization. You must check with your organisation’s personal device and data security policies as some organisations do not allow the use of personal devices at work, or for recording.
See our example personal device policy here.
The IRIS Connect Record App
Due to the nature of how the IRIS Connect application is constructed, not only does it upload and remove the recordings, but it encrypts the data that is temporarily stored on the device in such a way as to ensure that no one, not even the user themselves can access it. Only once the file has been uploaded is it decrypted on our servers.
Due to the unique way that this operates, it has been approved for use by many very security conscious organizations for use on personal devices.
Use of your own personal device in the classroom is a decision down to each individual.
Our app operates the same level of high-security process on all devices providing you use the IRIS Connect Record app, which is specifically designed to enable secure data capture and upload.
The Record app means that no one can view recordings locally (on the device before they are uploaded) as they are encrypted, automatically uploaded to your account and deleted from the device once the upload is complete.
