Internal Processes
If you have a Discovery Kit or Starter Kit that is shared between users at your organisation then we recommend considering the following:
Location
Think about where will the kit be stored. It needs to be somewhere secure but also easy to access.
Booking
To avoid two users trying to use the system at the same time you will need to implement a booking system.
This can either be via the IRIS Connect web platform or you can use an internal system. The main considerations are that its easy to see when it's booked and easy to make a booking.
Charging
Having a process to ensure the kit is charged after each use is really important.
Setup
Decide and communicate to the users whether there is a dedicated person or team who will take the kit to the room and set it up for the user or if the users will do that themselves.
Internal Support
If possible we advise that someone from the IT team supports the users during their initial recordings to ensure it is working correctly (connected to the WiFi, or internet filtering not blocking uploading/playback). Alternatively, the IRIS Connect support team is always available via the contact us button or live chat to provide support.
Securing the System
- Turning on 'find my device'
- Marking the devices
- Storing it securely
- Noting serial numbers
