What causes disconnections?
The microphone can disconnect for 2 main reasons:
1) The microphone is out of range from the recording device
2) The microphone runs out of battery
What happens when a microphone disconnects whilst recording?
If the Bluetooth microphone goes out of range and disconnects during the recording then the microphone's audio track will not record any more audio. The rest of that audio track will be silent, even if the microphone reconnects.

What happens when a microphone reconnects whilst recording? iOS
If the microphone has disconnected due to going out of range, when it is back within range of the recording device it should automatically reconnect to the device.
The app will notify you that the microphone has connected but is not recording (see image below)
This is because it's not possible to continue the recording after a disconnection. To record from the microphone, you will need to wait until you end the recording then the microphone will be able to record again.
What happens when a microphone reconnects whilst recording? Android
Recording with 1 microphone:
If the microphone has disconnected due to going out of range, when it is back within range of the recording device it should automatically reconnect to the device.
The app will be able to continue recording from this microphone but the audio will be instead of the built-in microphone channel. This is the same as recording in single audio mode, where the Bluetooth microphone is the only audio track that records.
Recording with 2 microphones:
If just one of the two microphones has disconnected and reconnected it won't be able to continue recording. As shown below:
If both microphones have disconnected, then the app switches to single audio mode and then one of the reconnected microphones will be able to record instead of the built-in audio track as described above 'Recording with 1 microphone'
Turning off Multiple Audio mode
If you are using an iOS device and are likely to experience multiple disconnections (by walking out of range of the recording device) you may want to consider turning off multiple audio mode for these recordings.
The benefit of this is that the microphone will be able to reconnect when back in range, and keep recording so you will have one constant audio track. When the mic disconects the track will record from the device's built-in mic, and once the mic reconnects it will switch back over to that.
The limitation of this mode is that you can only have 1 audio track recorded per recording device.
Additionally, in this mode some lower specification Android devices cannot support dual view recording and having Bluetooth microphones paired
