Please note, currently this is an iOS (Apple) only feature
The multi-camera feature enables the user to record from both the front and back cameras of their recording device at the same time. This is only possible if your recording device supports it.
To enable this feature, open the camera options via the blue settings cog on the recording screen.
The camera setting at the top will have 3 possible options:
1. Front / Back
If you see this option only then recording with both cameras at the same time is not supported. You can either select front or back.
2. Front / Back and Multiple Cameras - Off/On
If you see this option only then recording with both cameras at the same time is supported but your device only has one camera available on the front and back to record from. So you options are front, back or both.
3. Front / Back and Multiple Cameras - Off/On plus the option to select which front/back camera you wish to use.
If you have a view such as the one below, then your device supports both the selection of cameras and recording front and back at the same time.
The benefit of selecting the camera, is some cameras will have a wider field of view (FoV) so you can in effect zoom in or zoom out depending on the camera you select.
The menu screen is opaque so you can see the different camera previews whilst changing the selection
Pairing and Mulit-Camera
When enabling the feature you will need to agree to this message informing you pairing to another device for dual recording is not supported when using multi camera mode.
If you try and access the pairing menu when using the multi-camera feature you will see the following message, informing you the pairing is not supported
Using Multi-Camera Mode
When using this mode you will see a split view of your device of both the front and back camera
The recording will upload to your account as a dual recording, with both parts stitched together and contained within one reflection.
Multi-camera and Multiple audio
Multiple audio is supported when using multi-camera so if you are using 1 IRIS Connect microphone you will have 2 audio tracks, and if you are using 2 mics you will have 3 audio tracks.
The audio tracks are linked to the front video so if you use the split dual video feature the back video will have no audio.
