Features
If you use an IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphone, you can:
- Record multiple audio tracks using one recording device (tablet or phone).
- Use the microphone to remotely control the recording
1. Multiple Audio Mode
Using an IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphone you can capture two audio sources using one recording device.
1 - from the device's built-in microphone
2 - from the IRIS Connect microphone
You can record three audio tracks if have two IRIS Connect microphones paired to the recording device

Requirements
To make use of the Multiple Audio mode and remote controls you will need to:
- Use the IRIS Connect Microphone
- Have the Multiple Audio setting enabled
- Make sure the software loads
- Check the pop-up shows
1) Check your microphone
You will need to use one of the IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphones that look like this:
2) Ensure Multiple Audio is on
The Multiple Audio setting must be on.
Tap the settings cog to access Camera Options. Here you can turn Multiple Audio on or off.
3) Check the software loads and that the mic is paired
Open the Microphone information view:
1. Tap the mic icon
2. The Multiple Audio status will show as either: Connected/Disabled/Disconnected - explained below
i) Connected:
You are ready to record dual audio and use the microphone controls
ii) Disabled:
The Dual Audio feature is turned off. Turn it on via the Camera Options menu
iii) Disconnected:
If you see this status, the Multiple Audio feature is turned on but the software hasn't connected.
To resolve this try the following steps:
1) Ensure you are using an IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphone and it is paired to your device
2) Restart the Record app
3) Turn the Multiple Audio feature off and on
4) Turn the microphone off and on
5) Contact IRIS Connect Support
Microphone Icons
The app will show different icons depending on what audio device it's using to record:
Built-in mic - the recording will use the device's onboard microphone
Non-IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphone connected
1 or 2 IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphones connected
iPod is paired (see this guide for iPod pairing)
4) Check you see a pop-up when the mic pairs
This pop-up will show when you first open the app/pair the microphone

If you don't see the pop-up or if it shows as Connected: false then multiple audio mode and the remote controls won't work. Try the steps as described in the pop-up above. For a full guide to pairing your microphone click here.
2. Microphone Remote Control Features
If you are using one of our IRIS Connect Bluetooth microphones and ensure these requirements are met, then you will be able to do the following by clicking the button on the microphone:
- Start recording
- Add a notable moment (time-stamped comment)
- Stop the recording
1) Start recording - Double Click
To start recording from your microphone, make sure you are logged into the app and the microphone is turned on and paired (it will be showing a single blue flash every 5 seconds) then double-click the button on the microphone to start recording.
2) Add a notable moment/time-stamped comment - Single Click
When recording if you want to add a timestamp to your timeline, click the button once. You will see a pop-up on the device the microphone is paired to.
Android:
iOS:
On your recording, you will see a comment added to the timeline. They will be linked to the time in the recording when you click the button.
You can edit these notable moments just like any standard comment

3) Stop recording - Double Click
To stop recording, double-click the microphone button. You will then see the save/delete menu.
Changing Audio Tracks on Playback
To change audio tracks on a recording with dual audio use the 'select audio track' button on the video player
Using 2 Microphones
With the Multiple Audio feature, you can pair two IRIS Connect Microphones to one device and record three audio tracks. When two microphones are paired to one device it will display as shown below
1) 2 microphone icons shown in the icon
2) The 3 audio sources shown on the microphone information page along with volume bars.
