Apple devices: iOS 13 or newer
Android devices: Android 6 or newer
Android devices running 6 and above are supported, however, due to the vast number of manufacturers, models, and software versions, we haven't been able to test all combinations. Please get in contact with our support desk if you have any questions or problems.
Space requirement: At least 2GB of space
This should be enough for a 1-hour recording, but each device will record at a slightly different resolution. On average, devices will record at about 1GB per hour (this will vary from device to device) however it's important to note that the device will need double this space for the encryption process to be able to take place.

Prior to the recording, you can make a few adjustments to the video via the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner.
- Camera: Choose whether to record using a front-facing or back-facing camera (the front camera is set by default).
- Screen Fade: By default screen fade is on so that recorded people will not get distracted by the app screen but you can choose to switch the screen fade off.
- Anonymisation: You can switch this feature on if you wish to obscure the identity of people in your recordings. Further information on this can be found here.
- Dual Audio: If using the IRIS Connect Smart Mic, this setting switches between recording two audio tracks (the internal mic and the external mic) or just recording the Bluetooth mic. When this setting is disabled Further information here
- Mic Prompt: This setting turns on/off the pop-up warning to alert you if you start recording and have no external microphone paired to your device. This setting is enabled by default but you may like to turn it off if you regularly record without an external mic. Further information is here.
- Actual Camera Preview: When this is set to 'on' you will see exactly what will be recorded. When this is set to 'off' the preview will stretch to fill the screen, which may not show on screen all that is being recorded.
